The Program Classic Vol 2
June 7, 2024, was a Turning Point for the Future of NYC Basketball
On Friday, June 7th, The Program NYC officially arrived on the scene with The Program Classic, Vol. 2.
To kick off festivities, we hosted our “Future of The Program” skills clinic, with 75 of the most talented youth (ages 3rd-7th grade) in the Tri State area participating in a 90 minute session administered by a dozen of the top coaches & trainers in the area.
Next, we hosted our Girls High School All-Star game, with Team New York vs. Team New Jersey. This game featured some of the top girls in the country, including Olivia Vukosa (ESPN #2, Class of 2026), Mia & Mya Pauldo (ESPN #8 & #47, Class of 2025), and Jordyn Jackson (ESPN #9, Class of 2025).
For the night cap, we hosted our Boys All-Star game, again with Team New York vs. Team New Jersey. The Boys game featured a plethora of top ranked players, including Meleek Thomas (ESPN #5, Class of 2025), Dylan Mingo (ESPN #12, Class of 2026), Deron Rippey, (ESPN #40, Class of 2026), Nigel James (ESPN #91, Class of 2025) and others.
An epic battle broke out, with Meleek (Thomas) and Mel Mel (Jermel Thomas) engaging in a 1-on-1 series that created unforgettable moments and millions of viral hits across major media outlets who covered (Overtime, SLAM, NJ Hoop Recruit, more).
Team New York defeated Team New Jersey with a game-winning layup at the buzzer, and play drawn up to perfection by Team New York’s guest coach, Mo Bamba.
